I moved into the design industry about seven years ago. The approach behind taking up my first job was to work at a place where I could learn, sharpen my skills, and have colleagues who supported me.

I joined Axelerant about five years ago and transitioned into a new role recently. We’ve been looking for Visual Designers to join the Marketing team at Axelerant and take us to the next level. Here we are over a year into the COVID-19 pandemic — a year of acclimating to this “new” work from home model. I’ve been working remotely for a few years now. And here are some reasons why I would want to be a remote worker forever. 😎

Work-wise, not much has changed this past year, but it has been draining due to the limitations of pandemic/lockdown.

In one of my recent meetings, my colleague’s two-year-old daughter dropped by to get her hair tied from her dad. It brought back many beautiful memories from my childhood. It also made me realize how lucky I’ve been to have many such small moments with my family over the past few years.

Overall what has changed for me during the pandemic is that subconsciously counting my blessings has become the mantra — that’s the mindset I’ve adopted this past year.
